I've been very busy with commissions lately. I recently finished up a VERY big one for a new client in Alabama. It was 60"x30", oil on aluminum composite material (ACM) panel. The painting featured five long-time hunting buddies showcasing an historic pheasant hunt. I started the painting the day after my birthday last year (my birthday is Aug. 2) and didn't complete it until about the first of December. I received the painting scan file today from my friend at Colorchrome in Norcross, GA. Artists, if you need help with scanning/printing your art, contact Melissa! The file scan is amazing and so detailed.
I also was commissioned by the talented Nashville musician Ally Brown to create an album cover for her upcoming release. The drawing was based on Ally's own sketch and done in charcoal and chalk on gray Strathmore paper, mounted to a cradled wood panel. It was a fun challenge and I'm proud of the results. Go find her on social media and give her a follow!
I also did a commission drawing of a dog for one of my wife's coworkers to give as a Christmas gift to her grandparents. And now, I'm planning to start a new commissioned painting for a friend. It will be in the style of my Kitsch Bird series and will feature a cardinal ornament that I've wanted to paint for several years. I'm excited to get started on it this weekend and I'll share it here once it's complete.
